What is PMI?
The Project Management Institute (PMI®) is an international organization with more than one half million members. PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession. PMI is actively engaged in advocacy for the profession, setting professional standards, conducting research and providing access to a wealth of information and resources. PMI also promotes career and professional development and offers certification, networking, and community involvement opportunities. What is the PMBOK?
A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - 4th Edition, is a global standard that has been developed and approved for the Project Management profession. It is comprised of both proven traditional practices and innovative emerging practices. Individuals who have been certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) utilize this resource extensively during their project management careers. As the profession grows and new practices become more refined, the PMBOK continually evolves to document the industry best practices.
Is lunch provided?
We have several eating establishments within walking distance of our training center. You will be on your own for lunch. Ample time will be provided for lunch breaks. Snacks will be provided. Reminder, lunch is a great time for networking!
What are PDU's?
The Professional Development Unit (PDU) is the measuring unit used by the Project Managment Institute, Inc. (PMI®) to quantify approved learning and professional service activities. Typically, one PDU is earned for every one hour spent in a planned, structured, learning experience or activity. MTS Inc. is recognized as a global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.®) by PMI and is therefore able to award PDUs for our training classes.
Why are PDU's Important?
Each Project Management Professional (PMP®) must satisfy PMI's Professional Development Program requirements in order to maintain their PMP certification and are required to attain no less than 60 PDUs within a three-year cycle.
How do I register my PDU's with PMI?
PDU's must be registered directly with PMI via their website. You must establish an on-line account with PMI, then follow the detailed instructions given via the on-line PDU resources section.
